After an unhinged stage crash at a 1967 awards show, faded movie star Mabel Montgomery-Mayflower flees and barricades herself in her mansion to tape-record her life story. Drunk and alone, Golden Vanity is Ms. Montgomery-Mayflower's last chance to preserve her horrifying, hilarious and unreliable truth - one last shot to relive the glory days, before it's too late.

Tales of Bravery and Stupidity is a one-man show that moves brilliantly between funny, relatable and surprisingly touching. Using music, stand-up, and storytelling, Bruce McCulloch takes us on a poetic flyover of his life "pursuing stories" and makes an unspoken agreement with the audience to contemplate the world together. Tales combines Bruce's knack for effin' funny observations with his humanistic yearnings, looking at the bravely stupid things he's done, and things we all do as we try and make sense of our messy lives. Bruce performs his show LIVE at The Rivoli in Toronto!

Lava (2019), the animated film Ayar Blasco presented at the 34th edition of the Mar del Plata Film Festival, left many subplots unresolved in a sci-fi narrative in which an alien civilization dominated the planet through technological devices. This incompleteness, which could then be attributed to the director’s aesthetics, always free and prone to absurdity, was actually a pause that now, four years later, is resumed. The protagonist continues to be Débora, a somewhat insecure tattoo artist who ends up involved in the resistance when a new batch of invaders threatens to wipe out every single record of the human race. With the childlike strokes and the uncontrollably innocent humor characteristic of him, Blasco continues to shape his own epic, a hallucinated version of El Eternauta, with click beetles and all.
