In 1924, the town of Stołpce was attacked by a Soviet sabotage group.

The story of the famous Qijiang general Wang Liang (1905-1932). More precisely, the most heroic episode in his miltary career from 1927 to 1932. In early August 1927, Wang Liang, Luo Ruiqing and others originally planned to participate in the Nanchang Uprising. They were blocked when they passed Jiujiang and were detained by the rebel warlord. After successfully escaping, Wang Liang, with the help of Qijiang fellows Liu Sihai, Yang Chunfa and others, went to Xiushui, joined the autumn harvest uprising team, and initially demonstrated his military command ability when attacking Jinping.

Poet Siegfried Sassoon survived the horrors of fighting in the First World War and was decorated for his bravery, but became a vocal critic of the government's continuation of the war when he returned from service. The film centers on Ukrainian surgeon Serhiy, who is captured by the Russian military forces in the conflict zone in Eastern Ukraine, and while in captivity, he is exposed to horrifying scenes of humiliation, violence and indifference toward human life. After his release, he returns to his comfortable middle-class apartment and tries to find a purpose in life by rebuilding his relationship with his daughter and ex-wife. He learns how to be a human being again, how to be a father and help his daughter, who needs his love and support.

November 11, 1918, Germany capitulates. The armistice is signed. In the days that follows, the General Staff send a letter: France must honor the memory of its soldiers by naming an unknown soldier. In an infantry regiment based in the Somme, Corporal Solal and the soldiers Malard, Klein, and Maestracci, are appointed to scour the battlefields in search of the ideal corpse.
