In January 2025, experimental jazz duo Myshko Birchenko and Yevhen Puhachov, members of Hyphen Dash, travelled to Kramatorsk without any pre-made drafts or demo recordings to use music as a vessel to capture the emotions present in a place on the edge of a battle for survival and explore the therapeutic nature of music and improvisation in the brutal reality of war. They packed all the equipment into a car, drove 700 kilometres from Kyiv to the frontline city Kramatorsk, and turned one of many basements which serve as shelters into a makeshift recording studio. The so called Gregor Samsa (Samsa is actually a playword-Kafka) lays himself to sleep, as he is supernaturally awoken, through pain and angst, as an insectoid. He can now only be engulfed by this horror and scream himself only to fall asleep yet again (forever).

The film is about the legendary Ukrainian volunteer, officer, and public figure Taras Bobanych "Hammer". Taras started his fight on the Maidan. Since 2016, he has been a member of the 1st Separate Assault Company of the Right Sector and, at the same time, a friend and associate of Dmytro "Da Vinci" Kotsyubaylo. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, "Hammer" led the battalion and defended first Kyiv and then Kharkiv regions from the enemy. The film about Taras is a collection of stories of the Ukrainian people's ten-year struggle for their freedom. The legendary "Hammer" has always played a prominent role in this struggle.
