The story takes place in Karabakh mountains in 1992, in the times of Armenian-Azerbaijani war. A small group of Armenian soldiers is working their way through the snow to reach the necessary point. One of them is so exhausted, that he can't keep on going. He is obliged to stay and wait for the reinforcement. He is left alone with the body of the Azerbaijanian soldier, who was shot by his companion. Checking his I.D., he discovers that they are from the same town, that they are countrymen.

The film presents two different forces of the inner world of the protagonist father: paternal feelings and the holy religious ideology. The spectator witnesses how he loses his only son and holy belief. Shot in chaotic and dirty Kabul, the film portrays the incorrect interpretation of religion and the conflict of generations.

Based upon the popular graphic novel by Wu Lin, this is the first Chinese animated film to portray the Holocaust. Xiao Hua eventually led his troops to capture the Denming Temple and established the famous Hebei-Shandong border anti-Japanese base area.
