Jeanette Björkqvist, born in 1973 in Porvoo, Uusimaa, is a Finnish-Swedish journalist and author. She has worked as a news reporter for Hufvudstadsbladet in Helsinki, as an employee of Svenska Dagbladet in Helsinki and since 2016 as a freelancer. Björkqvist is also a regular studio guest in the radio program "Eftersnack" and has also participated in the Friday panel "Jälkiviisaat." In 2010, she was awarded the EU Journalist Prize and the 2011 Midas Prize for her report "The Unwanted People", on the Eastern European Roma. In the spring of 2014, the play Woman for Sale, where Björkqvist was one of the co-authors, premiered at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki. The play was awarded the Finnish-Swedish Playwright Award in 2014. In the autumn of 2015, Björkqvist was awarded that year's Fredrika Runeberg's scholarship and in 2017 she was awarded the Topelius Prize. She was chosen Freelancer of the Year in 2019. Björkqvist was Radio Vegas' summer speaker in 2014.
