
Samuel-Ali Mirpoorian is a Television Academy Honors Award-winning filmmaker exploring themes at the intersection of time, isolation, health, science, and introspection. His debut feature documentary, Greener Pastures, screened at over 50 film festivals between 2023–2024 and won more than fifteen awards, including the prestigious Television Academy Honors Award from the Primetime Emmys in 2025. The film was executive produced by Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning producers David J. Cornfield and Linda A. Cornfield. Greener Pastures premiered nationally on PBS' Independent Lens and is available to stream on PBS, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, and other platforms.
Mirpoorian’s short films have also received critical acclaim, screening at major Academy Award-qualifying festivals such as Tribeca, DOC NYC, and Chicago International. His short Safe Place was acquired by The New York Times, selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was in the mix for Best Documentary Short at the 2025 Academy Awards. His latest short, Saving Superman, has played at 16 Oscar-qualifying festivals and is expected to be released in fall 2025. He is a 2023 PBS Wyncote Fellow and has received support from major film organizations including Doc Society, The Redford Center, and ITVS.
