Anthony Frodsham was director-general of the Engineering Employers' Federation at a low point of British industrial relations during the late 1970s.
After wartime naval service and a successful career in management consultancy, Frodsham took up the EEF post - in which he spoke on behalf of 6,500 member companies - in February 1975.
