Ambrogio Maestri came from Pavia where he studied singing and piano. In 2001, he made his sensational debut at the Milan Scala performing Falstaff, under the direction of Riccardo Muti. From then on, he was invited to perform with the most important conductors in the most renowned international stages. E.g. among others, the Scala, the Met, Covent Garden, the Opéra de Paris, Salzburg, Verona, Munich, Zurich and Berlin. Other important Verdi roles include Don Carlo di Vargas (La forza del destino), Jago (Otello), Renato (Un ballo in maschera), Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Conte di Luna (Il trovatore), Amonasro (Aida) as well as the leading roles in Simon Boccanegra, Rigoletto and Nabucco. Furthermore, Maestri has celebrated success as Dulcamara, Tonio, Alfio and Scarpia.
Most recent performances have taken him to Verona, Barcelona, Milan, Verona, Tokyo, New York and Munich.
