I have seen at least one documentary and one drama on the story of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley’s Moors murders, so I was interested in seeing this even though I am not in the UK and therefore not as invested in the tragedy as many have been.

Whenever there is a program like this, I sort of assume the mystery in question will be solved. I mean, they found Richard III’s bones finally, right? But although some interesting context and details of why the location of the victims’ bodies were revealed, ultimately the specific answer they were searching for died with the killers.

A few of the readings of Myra’s letters didn’t quite feel pertinent to me, but overall the show was an intriguing look into her mindset, both at the time of the murders and throughout her remaining life in and out of prison. It was worth watching.
