Shamsher Singh (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) is a pure-hearted, selfless and God-fearing man. The only sad part in his life is that he is childless. One day, while returning from a pilgrimage, he and his wife, Bansa (Tanuja), find an abandoned child. They decide to bring up the child and name him Gurdit. Later, the couple has a child of their own. Both siblings grow to manhood, loyal to each other until a woman drives a wedge between them.

I know my favorite film of all time is Ucha Dar Baba Nanak Da which stars Gurdas Mann and Priti Sapru it is good emotional film between to two families, Then they feud it out and Gurdas Mann loss his voice and then toward the ending of the he gets his Voice back and then he and his bride comeback to the village and everybody unties and the songs are great. I watched this film a while ago and must say its a must watch for everyone.the direction, the story, costumes, acting are all good.its a well made film.if u haven't watched it ,u have missed a great Punjabi film. This movie is Sharat Saxena's first and last Punjabi movie. - by Yellow_Spider @ imdb
